Diesel Tank Cleaning Ferry
Mobile tank cleaning of a passenger ferry. This involved a ship from the Zuiderzee Museum. Cleaning the diesel tank is increasingly becoming part of regular maintenance for a ship.
This is what the diesel tank looked like, contaminated and full of sludge. A clear case of diesel bacteria. Diesel tank cleaning proved to be no luxury.
First, both tanks were emptied and 500 liters of diesel were filtered down to 10 microns and treated with an anti-bacterial biocide. Then the starboard and port tanks were cleaned.
