Water filled… in the diesel tank
Accidentally filled the diesel tank with water?
For all captains and crew members who have experienced this and feel ashamed… Don’t be ashamed. You are really not the only one. It happens to more people than you think. This week alone, we encountered a similar situation three times.
Recently, we assisted a beautiful ship, a Pikmeer cruiser in Baarn, equipped with two tanks of 400 liters each. Both tanks were completely filled, but part of it consisted of water. In total, we removed 155 liters of water, carefully separated from the diesel. We then fully purified the fuel and thoroughly cleaned the tanks. The result? The engine ran smoothly again, the filters remained clean, and the couple could continue to enjoy their sailing holiday without worries.

A professional cleaning prevents expensive repairs and ensures that you can sail safely and worry-free.
- Inspection and diagnosis: we determine how much water is present and where it is located.
- Separation and cleaning: water is removed, diesel is purified, and tanks are cleaned.
- Control and aftercare: we check that the engine runs reliably again and provide advice to prevent recurrence.
